Realistic low-tox living and natural wellness for modern families.
About
When I first became a mom I had a lot of of ideas on what “perfect parenting” looked like. I have since learned there is no such thing. Every family is different, every child is different, and every mom is different. What works for one may not work for another. From breastfeeding to bottle feeding, from sleep training to co-sleeping, from herbs and supplements to Tylenol and Benadryl - sometimes the “right” answer will look different for every family and every situation. And that’s okay!
My name is Alex, and after remerging to social media after multiple years off I was shocked to find how judgmental both sides of the spectrum can be - “crunchy” and “conventional.” My heart behind this page was to create a judgement-free, evidence-based placed for moms to navigate through making better decisions for their family.
I grew up in a home with a holistic dentist dad, and a first generation American mom (German/Ukrainian) - which has allowed me to have a very unique perspective on life and health.
In addition to raising my two children, I also work with my dad in his holistic, airway-centered practice.
I am not a medical provider, but I do my best to collaborate with experts across a wide range of health and wellness fields. Throughout my page, you'll find contributions and insights from FNPs, PAs, nurses, myofunctional therapists, IBCLCs, bodyworkers, dentists, nutritionists, herbalists, and more. These collaborations are where I learn the most, and I hope you'll learn something valuable from them too!
Throughout my journey, I have become a firm believer in caring for the mind, body, and spirit through a holistic approach. At the same time, I recognize that conventional medicine has many valuable tools and plays an important role in health and healing as well.
I strive to thoughtfully consider both perspectives when researching and making decisions for myself and my family. My hope is to share what I've learned in a way that helps you make informed decisions for your own family.
