My Favorite Prenatal…Now in Gummy Form!

Feeling exhausted and depleted during pregnancy is normal, right? Well it doesn’t have to be that way. Pregnancy is incredibly demanding. You’re literally growing an entire human being, building a placenta, and increasing blood flow by up to 40-50%.
That is A LOT to ask of your body.
It would be great to get everything we need from diet alone during pregnancy, but for most women it simply isn’t plausible. Enter, prenatals.
Prenatals are designed to complement (not replace) a nutrient-dense diet, and help fill nutritional gaps during this very crucial time. But simply taking just any prenatal does not mean you’re getting meaningful amounts of what you need.
Data suggests that up to 95% of women experience some level of deficiency, even while supplementing. And the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey shows women who supplement can STILL have inadequate intake of nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B6, choline, magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc.
Most prenatals are formulated around RDAs, but the problem is a minimum recommendation is not the same thing as restoring nutrient stores or providing individualized and optimal nutrition. And unfortunately, pregnant and breastfeeding women have historically been underrepresented in clinical research to establish Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) and RDAs (estimates suggest exclusion from up to 83% of studies)!!!
Why I Love Needed
This is why I love Needed’s prenatals. They have a strong, overall formulation with optimal dosing. And I like that they don’t contain iron or omega’s (more on this in a bit).
Does the following message resonate with anyone? I received this DM almost a year ago, and I have some very good news!

You asked, and they listened!
Needed now has a GUMMY prenatal vitamin (ALEXKELLY for 20% off first order) for those mamas who need something a bit more tolerable than swallowing capsules or might be sensitive to powder, and they are hands down the best gummy option I have found.
Their gummies contain 17 nutrients at clinical doses that are 8x more than leading prenatal gummies‖ , and at least 4x more nutrition than the average leading prenatal capsule in just 3 gummies per day.‡

‡4x more nutrition refers to the average amount of vitamins and minerals provided per daily serving, measured relative to pregnancy Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs), compared to the average of the leading prenatal capsule brand and Needed’s Prenatal as of May 2026. Brand B: 4x, Brand C: 4x, Brand D: 4x.
‖ Based on a comparison of each brand’s labeled daily serving amounts of vitamins and minerals relative to the pregnancy Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs), calculated as an average across those nutrients. As of May 2026.

They also have a discounted bundle that offers their Prenatal Gummy and Choline (ALEXKELLY for 20% off first order) for those who want additional choline. The prenatal contains 55mg, while their 1 capsule Choline add-on provides an additional 500mg, for a total of 555 mg of Choline. The Adequate Intake (AI) for Choline during pregnancy is 450 mg and 550 mg while nursing, making this a solid option to hit your Choline needs.

But wait…Iron and Omegas Aren’t Included?**
Yes, Needed’s prenatals do not include iron and DHA. This is my personal preference because iron absorption can be reduced when it's combined with higher doses of calcium and magnesium. Additionally, separating iron allows for more personalization when it comes to dosing and form, as needs and tolerance differ from woman to woman.
As for Omegas, they are very delicate and require careful encapsulation and packaging to help minimize oxidation. I prefer to also take these separately to ensure both an effective dose and confidence in quality.

As you can see, there is a stark difference between Needed’s prenatal gummies and Ritual’s capsules (one of the top selling prenatals on the market). This is why I think it’s important to know how MUCH is in your vitamin, not just how stacked the facts panel is.
While Ritual has more magnesium/K2/biotin and slightly more folate, Needed’s prenatal gummy vitamins have considerably broader and higher vitamin and mineral coverage overall. This is why I confidently recommend Needed’s Prenatal. They offer the quality I’m looking for in a prenatal, and the flexibility of different forms depending on where you’re at in your pregnancy and what you need.
***Not medical advice. If you are experiencing significant exhaustion or other symptoms during pregnancy or postpartum, do not automatically assume you just need a stronger prenatal. Talk with your provider about whether lab work or additional evaluation is warranted.
